PUSHPANJALI
Pushpanjali (Offering of Flowers) is located in the Chembur area of eastern Mumbai, about a forty-minute commute by train and bus from the SHARE office. It was founded in 1997 by Manisha Pwar, who had previously worked at SHARE, where she learned many of the skills needed to organize a cooperative. Manisha’s son Rupesh now works as her assistant. In addition to their work, the Pushpanjali group has undertaken some very challenging social projects. Their community service has strengthened the artisans’ leadership skills and confidence, and they plan to expand this social activism. |
