Aashiyana (Home) was established in 2000, and with only seven members, it is the smallest group. The cooperative is trying to save enough to be able to purchase its own workshop in Tardeo, a twenty-minute train ride from the SHARE office in Mumbai. They are located in a very volatile community that includes both Hindus and Muslims, and conflicts are common in their neighborhood. However, the artisans have learned how to defuse such issues in the cooperative by facing their differences openly and freely discussing any problems.
SHARE's artisans are organized into ten cooperative groups:
